Mandatory waste diversion in Ontario

Did you know: Ontario has regulations pursuant to the Environmental Protection Act (which apply to businesses of a certain size) which require that the businesses:

• Prepare a Waste Audit covering the waste generated at a facility (such as a shopping mall) (O. Reg 102/94)
• Prepare a Waste Reduction Work Plan (O. Reg. 102/94)
• Separate waste from recyclables at source (O. Reg 103/94)
